Parking and Public Transport Information

The Dorothy Parkes Centre is a busy community hub, open seven days a week, often from 9am until 8pm. We are proud to provide a wide range of activities, services, projects, events, and private functions for our local community, welcoming an average of 950 visitors each week.

As we are located in the heart of a residential area, we do not have our own car park. Visitors travelling by car are encouraged to make use of the ample on-street parking nearby. In particular, there is usually good availability along Church Road, adjacent to the church grounds.

We kindly ask all visitors to be considerate of our neighbours when parking. Please avoid blocking driveways, parking on corners, or causing any obstruction that may reduce visibility or access for other road users.

Important – Please do not park in the following areas:

Chapel View

The private parking bays at the rear of the Centre

These bays are reserved for residents only. Any vehicles belonging to Centre users found in these spaces will be required to move immediately.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us to maintain good relationships with our neighbours and the local community.

We also ask if you may consider public transport or walking/cycling to our venue. The Dorothy Parkes Centre is a 20 minute walk from Smethwick Rolfe Street train station and we are on the 89 bus route. The venue is also on a cycle route and has facilities for bikes at the Centre.

Thank you for your co-operation and support.
