Celebration of life
About this space
At the heart of Stretford Public Hall, our Victorian Ballroom offers a calm, dignified and welcoming setting for wakes and celebration-of-life gatherings. Full of character and history, the space combines high ceilings, an elegant mezzanine, large windows and an original wooden floor, creating an atmosphere that feels both grand and comforting.
Natural daylight fills the room during the day, while adjustable lighting in the evening allows for a softer, more reflective mood. The Ballroom’s excellent acoustics make it well suited for speeches, music and shared moments of remembrance, with a flexible P.A. system available if required.
The space can accommodate up to 100 guests seated at tables, with round tables and chairs included in the hire. If a standing gathering is preferred, the Ballroom can accommodate up to 150 people. A small kitchenette with supports catering arrangements, and a fully stocked bar can be opened by prior agreement.
Nearby toilets are easily accessible, including a dedicated gender-neutral block and an accessible toilet.
Whether you are planning a quiet, intimate gathering or a larger event bringing friends and family together, the Ballroom provides a respectful and beautiful backdrop — one that photographs and films sensitively and well.
Included in the hire:

12 round tables (seating 8–10)
