Appropriate Use
The venue is suitable for a wide range of events including community gatherings, performances, exhibitions, conferences, workshops, markets, private celebrations and cultural events.
However, activities that may be considered inappropriate for a historic church environment are not permitted. This includes (but is not limited to):
Events or activities that are offensive, discriminatory or disrespectful in nature
Activities that may cause damage to heritage features, stained glass, stonework, flooring or furnishings
Use of open flames, pyrotechnics, smoke machines or substances that may stain, mark or impact the building fabric
Excessive noise, vibration or activities that may disturb neighbouring properties or the structural integrity of the building
Any activity involving hazardous materials or unsafe equipment
Events that conflict with the cultural, spiritual or historical significance of the space
Care of the Building
Nothing may be nailed, screwed, taped or affixed to walls, columns, windows or historic surfaces
Decorations must be freestanding and removed after the event
Furniture and equipment must be handled carefully and returned to original positions
Food and beverages must be managed responsibly to prevent damage or staining
All rubbish must be removed at the end of the hire period
Behaviour & Conduct
Hirers are responsible for ensuring guests behave in a respectful and orderly manner. The venue reserves the right to refuse or terminate bookings where activities are deemed inappropriate or where venue rules are not followed.
