The Ballroom - Viewings Only
About this space
At the heart of Stretford Public Hall is our beautiful Victorian Ballroom — a space full of character, warmth and history. With its high ceilings, elegant mezzanine, large windows and original wooden floor, the Ballroom has a grand yet welcoming feel that makes every event feel special.
During the day, the room is filled with natural light, and in the evening our lighting system lets you set the perfect mood — bright and focused for conferences, or soft and colourful for parties and weddings. The acoustics are wonderful for speeches, live music and performances, and our flexible P.A. system can be set up to suit your event.
The Ballroom can hold up to 200 people standing, 150 theatre-style, or 100 seated around tables, making it a great choice for weddings, conferences, parties, concerts and community events. There’s a small kitchenette with serving hatches for catering, and a fully stocked bar that can be opened by arrangement.
Guests have access to nearby toilets, including a dedicated gender-neutral block and an accessible toilet.
Whether you’re hosting something big and lively or warm and intimate, the Ballroom provides a stunning backdrop — and looks fantastic in photos and videos too.

The Hall is a Grade II-listed Victorian building. There is an access ramp to the Hall’s main entrance on Chester Road and step-free access to the building using our side entrance on Dorset Street. We have a lift which services all publicly-accessible floors in the building. We have accessible toilets on both the ground floor and the first floor. Most large events take place in our Ballroom which is on the Hall’s first floor and can be accessed by lift. Unfortunately, we do not have a Hearing Loop at the Hall at present.
