Weddings in The Ballroom
About this space
At the heart of Stretford Public Hall lies our stunning Victorian Ballroom — a beautifully restored space full of warmth, character, and timeless elegance. With its high ceilings, original ornate mouldings, gold detailing, and elegant mezzanine, the Ballroom offers a truly memorable setting for your wedding day.
A striking oak dance floor anchors the room, while large sash windows flood the space with natural light, creating a bright and uplifting atmosphere for daytime ceremonies and wedding breakfasts. In the evening, our flexible lighting system allows you to transform the room — from soft and romantic to vibrant and celebratory — ensuring the perfect mood for every moment of your day.
The Ballroom’s neutral colour palette makes it a versatile blank canvas, ready to be styled to reflect your personal vision, whether that’s classic and elegant, modern and minimal, or full of colour and creativity. The acoustics are excellent for speeches, live music, and performances, and our adaptable PA system can be configured to suit your plans.
The space can accommodate up to 120 seated at tables, and 200 for a standing reception, making it ideal for both intimate celebrations and larger wedding parties. A convenient kitchenette with serving hatches supports catering, and a fully stocked bar can be opened by arrangement.
To enhance your wedding experience, there are four additional rooms available alongside the Ballroom, offering wonderful opportunities to add depth and surprise to your day — perhaps a quiet retreat for guests, a photo booth, a games room, or a private space for preparations.
With nearby toilets, including accessible and gender-neutral facilities, and a setting that photographs beautifully, the Victorian Ballroom provides a breathtaking backdrop for a wedding that feels both grand and deeply personal.
